Pocket Physio

Trigger Point Massage Tool

What is a Pocket Physio?

The Pocket Physio is a massage tool that helps maintain general joint mobility. It makes it easy to locate and release muscle trigger points in tight muscles. Its unique shape has been specifically designed by our Physiotherapists and it is particularly useful for relieving muscular aches and joint stiffness related to poor posture. (Sitting at a desk all day or spending too much time looking down at a phone) It can also assist with the restoration of joint mobility and recovery following sport or increased physical activity.

Also perfect for relieving sore feet!

How does a Pocket Physio work?

The Pocket Physio is designed to replicate the feeling of a physical therapist or massage therapist pressing into your muscle with their thumb. It is best suited for releasing tightness in the forearms, neck, chest, calves, and feet.

For larger muscle groups like Quads, Glutes or Hip flexors try the Pocket Physio Max

Trigger points are tiny knots that develop in a muscle when it is used or worked, like when you go for a run or to the gym. They are areas where your muscle and connective tissue are highly sensitive to pressure. Applying firm pressure directly on a trigger point for at least 10-15 seconds signals the muscle to relax.

Should I choose the Pocket Physio Mini or Pocket Physio Max?

That depends on what you are intending on using it for. The Max is best used while lying on the ground or against a wall. It is generally more beneficial for larger muscle groups, predominantly in the lower body. The Mini mimics a physio’s thumb. The benefit comes from holding the product in your hands and applying pressure to the affected area. This is generally used in upper body muscles.

Using the split end allows for triggering in two areas. If the product is used on the back, the groove allows room for the spine and ensures there’s no spinal pressure.

Head to our Contact page and ask one of our Physios. They may not answer straight away but they will as soon as possible.
